Friction material professionals usually evaluate the quality of brake pads from the following aspects: braking performance, high and low temperature friction coefficient, high and low speed friction coefficient, service life, noise, braking comfort, no damage to the disc, expansion and compression performance.

Transmission Control Module For Ford

1. When you buy a disc Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) on the market, check whether the chamfer of the Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) is the same on both sides, whether the groove in the middle is flat, and whether the edge is smooth and has no burrs. Because of these details of the product, although it does not affect the braking performance of the production parts, it can reflect the manufacturing level of the manufacturer's equipment. Without good manufacturing equipment, it is difficult to produce high-quality products even with good formulas.
2. For disc TCM Or TCU Or ECU, check whether the friction material part of the Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) and the back plate has flash, that is, whether there is friction material on the back plate. This shows two problems. First, the back plate and the mold are not installed correctly during the hot pressing process, and there is a gap; second, there are problems with the hot pressing process. The time and frequency of exhaust are not suitable for the product molding process. The possible problem is that the internal quality of the product is poor.
3. For heavy truck drum TCM Or TCU Or ECU, check whether the large and small holes of the Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) are smooth. There should be no stinging when the finger is rotated inward. If possible, the inner arc surface can be lifted up with a little force. If the brake pad can bounce up without breaking, it is one of the better brake pad brands, and the inferior brake pad may break.
4. For heavy truck drum TCM Or TCU Or ECU, there is also a difference between high-quality and low-quality TCM Or TCU Or ECU during riveting. There is a gap between the inner arc of the lower brake pad and the brake shoe. Riveting will occur during the riveting process, and riveting may also occur.
6. For brake shoes, it mainly depends on whether there is glue overflow and lining offset at the junction of the lining and the iron shoe. These problems indicate that there are problems in the production process during the processing of the lining and the iron shoe, although this does not affect the performance of the brake. This will have a great impact, but it reflects that the manufacturer's quality control ability during the production process is poor, so its inherent quality must be questioned.
7. Regardless of disc-type TCM Or TCU Or ECU, heavy truck drum-type TCM Or TCU Or ECU, or iron-shoe TCM Or TCU Or ECU, internal quality inspection can use two similar products with friction materials to make surface contact, and then rub them relatively with force. If there is a phenomenon of falling powder or dust, it means that the Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) is not a good product, indicating that the internal friction material of the product is relatively loose, which directly affects the thermal degradation performance and wear resistance of the product.
