TCM Or TCU Or ECU sometimes have such problems

2024 07/04

1. Why TCM Or TCU Or ECU wear out

Partial wear of brake pads is mainly caused by the jamming of the brake caliper piston, the asynchronism of the brake cylinder piston (for drum brakes), and the jamming caused by poor lubrication of the guide pin. The effect is to reduce braking efficiency, shorten the service life of the brake pads and generate noise. Solution: Check the reset of the brake cylinder and guide pin, clean the brake caliper or lubricate the brake cylinder and guide pin with the brake deep maintenance kit cleaner, and replace the brake pads.

Suitable For Audi A3 Transmission Control Module

2. Why is there grease on the surface of TCM Or TCU Or ECU
Due to the formation of oil stains on the surface due to improper storage of brake pads or improper operation during installation by Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) manufacturers, the effects are: long brake pedal stroke, soft brakes, reduced braking efficiency, and steering direction off. The solution is: if there is oil on the surface of the brake disc, use the brake deep maintenance kit to clean the brake disc, and the brake pads with severe oil stains need to be replaced.
3. Why are there hard spots on the surface of TCM Or TCU Or ECU
The main reason for the appearance of hard spots on the surface is uneven mixing during the production of the brake pads, or the raw materials used have a large particle size or contain other impurities. These hard spots have a great impact on braking performance and will cause the brake disc. Faster loss and brake noise, the solution is to replace the brake pads.
4. Why do TCM Or TCU Or ECU turn white at the edge and produce slag
Poor brake cylinder return, long-term wear of brake pads, parking system failure, excessive braking force or poor driving, etc. may cause the brake pad edges and slag to turn white. Reduce the friction coefficient, make the friction material consume too much, become brittle, crack, etc. The solution is: clean and lubricate the brake guide pin and brake cylinder. If the brake guide pin and brake cylinder are damaged, they should be replaced. Determine whether to replace the brake disc and Transmission Control Module (TCM Or TCU) according to the situation. The brake pads may also be unqualified products.
5. Why TCM Or TCU Or ECU have steps
The main reason for the stepped brake pads is due to the improper matching of the brake disc and brake pads. When braking, screaming and brake pedal shaking will occur. At the same time, the brake pads cannot be used for normal wear. The solution is based on the fact that the actual situation determines whether to replace the brake disc and brake pads.
